Patients that need access to their medications need to know there is help available in the current hurricane crises! This is a last-minute blog entry. I received information to get the word out in any way possible. Please share this information along to others. The National Infusion Center Association; NICA (whom I respect) has made the plea to help those affected and offer resources. I spoke to a patient in the middle of the eye of the storm as of this afternoon. They are unable to evacuate. That is just one family, my prayers are with so many. Here you go:

NICA is submitting legislation of patients that lost access to prescription medications and medical supplies they desperately need. We (NICA) are calling for the activation of the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program (EPAP), which allows over 70,000 pharmacies across the country to process claims for certain prescriptions, medical supplies, vaccines, medical equipment for patients in disaster areas at no cost to the pharmacies.IF Your not directly affected, and feel helpless.
